Dawns Dog House was founded in 2016 by Dawn who was driven by her passion to deliver a quality service for dogs and their owner.

As you can see from Dawns bio, she has a true passion for our four legged friends but due to being a full time mother and housewife, along with working a job Dawn couldn’t see her future, until that is, fate happened.

From looking after a single dog on a one off basis made Dawn realize that this is what she wanted to do, and so she set her mind to it and started off slowly. Her customer base grew sufficiently without any advertisements and the potential of Dawns passion was realised.

In 2018 James decided to leave employment and help Dawn with her ever growing customer base. Dawn and James pride themselves on the service they are able to provide to the dogs in the local area, and in some cases people travel great distances to drop their pooch of to them for care whilst they are away.

In 2022 Dawns dog house became a limited company and employed staff. This was done in order to grow the business and provide better facilities and even better care for the dogs we look after.

Our mission is to provide a service to our customers dogs that is second to none, we are always striving to improve our facilities and services that we offer.

Hello, I’m Dawn, founder and co-owner of Dawns Dog House.

I love dogs, so in 2016 i decided that i would like to dedicate myself to looking after other peoples furry friends. I have been around dogs all my life, helping my nan at an early age prepare her Afgan's for Crufts and at 17 attending the Woodmansterne Centre for Dog Training, where i completed my diploma. More recently i have attended several courses run by the IMDT with a view to becoming accredited with them.

I love all breeds, even the so called vicious ones (blame the owner, not the dog), my breed of choice is the German shepherd, they are very loyal, very clever and very agile, and with the right training they are an awesome dog.

In 2017 i qualified at level 2 in dog grooming. I groom at the weekends, i find it relaxing and therapeutic. I am also canine first aid trained which i keep up to date.

There’s nothing that makes me happier than seeing dogs happy, playing, cuddling and generally having fun.

My dream is to be able to open a rescue centre for abandoned and unwanted pooches, i am working hard towards achieving this goal.

If you want a place which is not a typical kennels setting, with people who genuinely care about animals then you’ve found us.

Thanks for reading and take care.

Hello, Im James and in 2018 i decided to leave employment to concentrate on the business with Dawn.

As with Dawn i have a tremendous amount of love for animals, especially dogs, having grown up with them, and as luck would have it my favorite breed is also the German Shepherd.

I share Dawns dream in being able to take care of other peoples dogs when needed and that one day we will be able to create a safe rescue home for some of the less fortunate strays out there.

I am qualified to Level 3 in dog grooming, hold a canine first aid certificate and have several certificates from the IMDT for canine behaviour and training.

I have been training dogs for years but have now decided to do it as a career, i am continuing my learning with the IMDT and am aiming at becoming a recognised member within the organisation

I very  much look forward to meeting your furry friend and making them apart of our family.

James

Growing up around dogs, specifically big ones, led to my passion of dogs both big and small. There was no doubt I’d eventually follow in mums footsteps working with them. The bonds I’ve formed with the pooches are incredible and I love them all like my own.

I always knew I wanted to work with animals and went to university to study marine biology but due to covid my career path changed slightly which led me here.

To make sure i am equipped for the job, i have undertaken canine first aid and have had some inhouse training.

Having grown up with rescue dogs as well as my own knowledge I’m well equipped to deal with those dogs who are a little temperamental. Seeing the dogs play will always bring a smile to my face, even when I’m covered in mud.
