Dawns Dog House Ltd

Founded in 2016, Dawn's Dog House was born out of Dawn's unwavering passion for dogs and her desire to offer a top-notch service to both dogs and their owners. As you may have gathered from Dawn's bio, her love for our four-legged friends is undeniable. However, balancing the responsibilities of being a full-time mother, housewife, and holding down a job made it challenging for her to envision a clear future. That is, until fate intervened. It all began with a single dog. A one-time favor turned into a revelation for Dawn, as she quickly realized that caring for dogs was her true calling. Determined to follow her passion, she started small, taking on clients through word of mouth alone. Without any formal advertising, Dawn's reputation grew, and soon enough, the potential of her passion-driven venture became evident. By 2018, the demand had grown so much that James decided to leave his job and join Dawn in managing the ever-expanding customer base. Together, Dawn and James have built a business they are immensely proud of, offering exceptional care to local dogs. Their reputation has even attracted clients who travel from afar to entrust their beloved pets to Dawn's Dog House. In 2022, Dawn's Dog House took a significant step forward by becoming a limited company and hiring staff. This move was driven by the desire to expand the business, enhance the facilities, and provide an even higher standard of care for the dogs in their care. At Dawn's Dog House, our mission is clear: to offer a service that is second to none. We are continually striving to improve our facilities and the services we provide, ensuring that every dog in our care receives the best possible experience.
Dawn

Hello! I'm Dawn, the founder and co-owner of Dawn's Dog House. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and in 2016, I decided to turn my passion into a full-time commitment by dedicating myself to looking after other people's furry friends. My love for dogs started early, helping my nan prepare her Afghan Hounds for Crufts. By the age of 17, I was attending the Woodmansterne Centre for Dog Training, where I earned my diploma. More recently, I've completed several courses with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), aiming to become accredited with them. I have a deep affection for all breeds, even those often labeled as "vicious" (I believe it's the owner, not the dog, that shapes behavior). My favorite breed is the German Shepherd—they're incredibly loyal, intelligent, and agile. With the right training, they make amazing companions. In 2017, I earned my Level 2 qualification in dog grooming. Grooming is something I do on weekends, and I find it both relaxing and therapeutic. I'm also trained in canine first aid, and I make sure to keep my skills up to date. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing dogs happy—whether they're playing, cuddling, or just having fun. My ultimate dream is to open a rescue center for abandoned and unwanted dogs, and I'm working hard to make that a reality. If you're looking for a place that's not your typical kennel setting, with people who genuinely care about animals, then you've found the right place. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends. Take care, Dawn
James

Hello! I'm James, and in 2018, I made the decision to leave my job and join Dawn in focusing full-time on our growing business. Like Dawn, I have an immense love for animals, especially dogs. Growing up with them, I developed a special bond with these amazing creatures. Coincidentally, my favorite breed is also the German Shepherd—they're incredibly loyal, intelligent, and versatile. Dawn and I share a common dream: to care for dogs when their owners need a safe and loving place for them, and to eventually open a rescue home for less fortunate strays. I hold a Level 3 qualification in dog grooming, a canine first aid certificate, and several certifications from the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) in canine behavior and training. I've been training dogs for many years, but now I'm thrilled to pursue it as a career. I'm continuing my education with the IMDT, with the goal of becoming a recognized member of the organization. I can't wait to meet your furry friend and welcome them into our extended family. Looking forward to it, James
Abbie

Growing up around dogs, especially the big ones, sparked my passion for dogs of all sizes. It was only natural that I would eventually follow in my mum's footsteps and work with them. The bonds I've formed with the dogs in our care are truly special—I love each one of them as if they were my own. I always knew I wanted to work with animals, which led me to study marine biology at university. However, due to the impact of COVID-19, my career path shifted slightly, and that's what brought me here. To ensure I'm fully equipped for this role, I've completed canine first aid training and received in-house training to build my skills. Having grown up with rescue dogs and through my own experiences, I'm well-prepared to handle dogs that might be a bit temperamental. There's nothing that brings me more joy than seeing the dogs play—no matter how muddy I get, it always puts a smile on my face.
